Troy Edwin Hall was born on November 17, 1927 in Fay, Oklahoma to Eric and Nannie Hall. He passed from this life to heaven on November 4, 2020. Troy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sisters, and his son, Corwin James Hall. He is survived by Corrine, his wife of 68 years; Bryan, his son; and several nieces and nephews. Troy's early years were spent on the family farm, and he later studied agronomy at Oklahoma A&M University. It was during his college years and through his involvement in the Baptist Student Center, that he met Corrine Goforth whom he later married. After graduation, Troy and Corrine moved to Fort Worth, where Troy attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After he received his Master of Divinity degree, the couple moved to the Pacific Northwest, where Troy pastored churches in Northern California, Oregon and Washington. Their sons, Bryan Ray and Corwin James, were born during these years. The family moved south in the mid-1960's, where Troy pastored churches in northwest Louisiana. veness in hospital ministry led to his being hired as a part-time, then full-time chaplain. Troy retired as Chief of Chaplains for the hospital after 25 years of ministry. Following his retirement, Troy & Corrine moved to Carrollton, Texas to take care of their son, Corwin, who was battling cancer. Following Corwin's death, Troy and Corrine moved to Austin to be closer to their son, Bryan. They enjoyed being members of Woodlawn Baptist Church where their son, Bryan, serves as Student Pastor. Throughout his life, Troy was known for his genuine love for and interest in people along with his desire for each person to know Jesus personally. A celebration of Troy's life will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church (4600 Menchaca Road, Austin, TX 78745) at 10 am on Monday, November 9. Everyone attending is asked to wear masks and observe physical distancing. A private burial will follow. Memorial donations may be given to Woodlawn Baptist Church (www.woodlawnbc.org) or Hospice Austin (www.hospiceaustin.org).
