Minerva Nanette Pecou-James, 52, of Ocala, Florida, passed away November 14, 2020. She was born on January 10, 1968 in the Republic of Panama. Minerva moved to Ocala from New York City three years ago. She was an office administrator for the New York City Sanitation Department. In her younger years, Minerva enjoyed performing jazz, ballet and modern dancing, track and field, and playing the flute for the New York H.S. All City Orchestra. She loved her dog, Taco, and took pleasure in family vacations, gatherings and celebrating of Kwanza. Minerva is survived by her son, D'Andre Pecou, her parents, Enrique and Amelia Pecou, two brothers, Jawara Pecou and Jubril Pecou. A funeral service will be held for Minerva on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Roberts of Ocala Downtown Chapel with a visitation one-hour prior.
