Glenn George Schuster, "Chuck", age 97, died on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Clinton Township, Michigan. He was born on July 24, 1923 in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan to the late George V. and the late Alma (nee: Measel) Schuster. Chuck was born and raised in Grosse Pointe Park and Detroit. He was a proud graduate of the 1941 Class at De La Salle Collegiate. After high school graduation, he was drafted to the Army and was assigned to the Air Corps. He earned many medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, and in 2017 he was bestowed with the French Legion of Honor for his flight crews action during WWII. After selflessly serving the United States, Chuck returned home to his wife, Constance, and began his bachelor's degree at the Detroit Institute of Technology while also working and helping raise their 5 children. He worked for DTE while earning his degree and then went on to be an Electrical Engineer for them for 40 years. Chuck was able to retire in 1985. Following retirement, he and Connie traveled locally as well as to Nassau in the Bahamas, Europe and Hawaii. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Chuck was extremely proud of being the President of the St. Matthew Dad's Club, Dominican Dad's Club, and the Bishop Gallagher's Dad's Club. He also enjoyed coaching softball. When he had free time, he enjoyed walking, but his main interest was reading. Chuck and Connie had many friends. They were always going out to eat in groups and having a good time. The only thing he ever needed was a cigar, a Manhattan and warm place to sit. Chuck was the loving husband of the late Connie. Dear father of Christine (Bland) Khalifah, Mary Jo (Daniel) Szlaga, Robert P. (Debbie) Schuster, Alan (Cathy) Schuster, Steven (Maria) Schuster, and the late infant Robert Glenn. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Mark) Khalifah, Susan Khalifah, Joseph (Dara) Khalifah, Karen (Josh) Khalifah, Mark (Jennifer) Szlaga, Matthew Szlaga, Paul (Rachel) Szlaga, Patrick (Amy) Schuster, Megan (Kevin) McCormick, Rose (Andrew) Belchner, Lisa Schuster, Angela Schuster, Laura (Jeffrey) Lin, Rachel (Nick) Foster, and Juliana Schuster. Beloved great-grandfather to many. He was also predeceased by his 5 siblings. Chuck will lie instate on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 9 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6021 Whittier St., Detroit, MI 48224.
