Lois Seering IOWA CITY - Lois Seering, 82, of Iowa City, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Iowa City Rehabilitation and Health Care Center following a long illness. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. James Kledis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at the Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorials may be made to the Lois P. Seering Memorial Fund for heart and cancer research and hospice care. Mrs. Seering was born Sept. 5, 1917, in Lincoln Township in Johnson County, the daughter of Thomas J. and Ethel Rogers Parker. She married Roland H. Seering June 18, 1935, in Iowa City. She graduated from Central High School in Iowa City. The couple moved to Burlington in 1940 and lived there until 1955, then moved to Riverside and later resided on a farm in Johnson County. She has lived in Bon Aire for the past 20 years. Her favorite pastime was enjoying her grandchildren and was also an avid gardener, Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. n and her husband, Kenneth, of Nichols, Arletta Howard and her husband, Gary, of Ainsworth, Pat Souza and her husband, Jeff, of Columbus Junction, Nancy Paulus and her husband, Tom, of Muscatine, and Linda Beaver and her husband, Richard, of Atalissa; four sons, Richard Seering and his wife, Rita, of Visalia, Calif., Irvin Seering and his wife, Janis, of Burlington, Alfred Seering and his wife, Jolene, of Tiffin, and Ronald Seering and his wife, Maggie, of New London; two sisters, Dorothy Edwards of Oskaloosa and Arlene Singleman of Iowa City; three brothers, Virgil Parker of Iowa City, Donald Parker of San Diego and Maynard Parker of North Liberty; 47 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Irene Lutjens of Las Vegas and Elda Hazen of Fortson, Ga.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roland in 1972, four grandchildren, and two brothers.
