Ed Steele GENESEO, Ill. - Ed Steele, 68, of Geneseo, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services in Geneseo. A parish rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Beverly Steele Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mr. Steele was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Avery, the son of John and Gertrude Thompson Steele. He married Beverly Kurriger on July 14, 1956, in Muscatine. She died on Jan. 2, 1996. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Period. He was head of the department of radiology at the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Keokuk from 1956 until 1976. He was then head of radiology department at Hammon-Henry Hospital in Geneseo from 1976 until retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Geneseo.
