Donald Griffith MOSCOW - Donald D. Griffith, 61, of Moscow, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at his home. A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Hahn will officiate. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. After the memorial service a celebration of Don's life will be held at the West Liberty Country Club until 2:30 p.m. There will be no visitation. Mr. Griffith was born on March 1, 1938, in Muscatine, the son of Roy and Mary Furnas Griffith. He received his bachelor's from Wisconsin State University and his master's from the University of Iowa. He married Barb Bissell on Dec. 2, 1971, in Rock Island, Ill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1961 to 1965, with the Interceptor Fighter Squad in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church. He taught in the Muscatine Community School System for many years. He was a big Hawkeye fan and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed music and sang with a jazz band from Dubuque.
