American Defense Service Ribbon, and a good conduct ribbon. He farmed for many years until 1962. He then did carpentry work with CT Schact in Durant and Bill Grunder and Sons in Wilton. He was a lifetime member of the Durant American Legion Post No. 430. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was very active in the Legion. Survivors include his wife, Esther Bullard of West Liberty; six daughters, Juanita Carl and her husband, Carl, of Harrisonville, Mo., Carolyn Liverzani and her husband, Ray, of Putman Valley, N.Y., Betty Jean Bullard of Durant, Judy Workman and her husband, Gary, of Durant, Susan Dirksmeier and her husband, Steve, of Marshfield, Ma., Yvonne Lea Blakesley and her husband, Larry, of Thornton Colo.; four sons, Chester Bullard and his wife, Linda, of Raymore, Mo., William Bullard of Liberal, Kan., Richard Bullard and his wife, Wendy, of Durant, John Bullard and his wife, Lisa, of Naperville, Ill., a brother, Edwin Bullard of Springfield, Ill., 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Bullard; his mother, Phoebe Bullard; two sisters, Virgie Emery, Lee Wolf; and two granddaughters, Christine Bullard, Sarah Dirksmeier.
