MUSCATINE #45;- Mildred C. Spitznogle, 83, of 316 Bleeker St., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Unity Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mark Wheeler, Dennis Theobald, Lance McKean, Terry McDaniel, Robert Spitznogle, Kenneth Spitznogle, and Larry Wheeler. Honorary Bearers will be Robert Wheeler, Lewis Wheeler, Jim Nott and Kenneth Weber. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made from the Mildred Spitznogle Memorial Fund. Mrs. Spitznogle was born on Nov. 2, 1916, in Muscatine, the daughter of Karl and Elnora Armstrong Pace. She married Carl Spitznogle in December of 1934. She worked at McKee Button Company and Weber amp; Sons Button Company. Survivors include a son, Karl Spitznogle of Muscatine; five daughters, Mary Haller and her husband, Jesse, of Arizona, Marle Wheeler and her husband, Lewis, of Muscatine, Dory Weber and her husband, Ken, of Coralville, Diane McKean of Muscatine, and Linda Nott and her husband, Jim, of Muscatine; 32 gran...[more]

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tom; a daughter, Sandra; a grandson, a grandson, Raymond Wheeler; a stepfather, Ernest White; and a special friend, Howard McCleary.
