Kathryn Gruenwald TIPTON, Iowa - Kathyrn Zelle Gruenwald, 88, of Des Moines, formerly of Tipton, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at The Ramsey Home in Des Moines from complications of Alzheimers Disease. Grave side committal service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery in Tipton. The Rev. DeLane Wright will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Memorials may be made to the Tipton School Foundation in Ralph and Kathryn Gruenwald's name. Mrs. Gruenwald was born March 5, 1911, in Alleman, the daughter of Guy Charles Zelle and Clara Esther Ringgeberg. She married Ralph Wirth Gruenwald in 1938, in Des Moines. She received her bachelor's and master's from Iowa State University. She taught home economics at Tipton High School. She was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church, PEO, various Methodist Church Circles, Order of Eastern Star, Homemakers Association, I.S.E.A., Lifetime member of NEA, Business and Professional Women of Tipton, Order of the KNOLL.
