Marjorie Wheeler DEKALB, Ill. #45;- Marjorie Furlong Wheeler, 57, of DeKalb, Ill., died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Newman Center, 512 Normal Road in DeKalb. The Revs. Steve Knox and John Onderko will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St. in DeKalb, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the DeKalb County Hospice, 2727 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, in recognition of the wonderful support given to her and her family in the last days of her brave struggle with ovarian cancer. Mrs. Wheeler was born Jan. 14, 1943, in Moline, Ill., the daughter of James and Margaret McFadden Furlong. She married Robert Wheeler on July 6, 1966, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb. She received a bachelor's in Spanish from Marquette University and a master's in Spanish from Northern Illinois University. She was a fiber artist and a member of the Kishwaukee Valley Art League and the Haymarket Art Guild in Dixon.She was a member of Christ the Teacher Parish (Newman Center) in DeKalb. She was a special friend of Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb, where she served as a member of the bell choir on several occasions. She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Wheeler of DeKalb; her daughter, Roxanne Warren and her husband, Alan, of Silvis, Ill; her grandson, Marcus Warren of Silvis; her mother, Margaret Furlong of Moline, Ill.; two brothers, Stanley Furlong of Rock Island, Ill. and Stephen Furlong and his wife, Betsy, of Rockville, Md.; her nieces and nephews, Erin, Katie, and Brian Furlong of Rockville, Md.; her stepchildren, Willow Davies of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. and Peter and Caleb Davies of Dekalb; and her former husband, John Rios of Moline. She was preceded in death by her father, James Furlong, and her late husband, Sgt. Maj. Fredrick Davies.
