Philip R. Sjoberg, 87 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Friday, August 23 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN.A funeral service will be held Monday, August 26 at 10:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN, with Father Timothy Wenzel officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Monday. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home. Philip R. Sjoberg was born May 22, 1926 in Grand Marais, MN to the late Carl and Della (Broker) Sjoberg.Philip grew up in Grand Marais, MN, with his five siblings. He attended Cook County School in Grand Marias, MN, and graduated with the class of 1940.He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.He served from 1940 until 1944 with the Seabees.Philip was united to Dorothy Tiemann on August 25, 1950 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, Minnesota.He worked construction and was a heavy equipment operator for several years.Philip and Dorothy enjoyed traveling and lived in several areas during their married life.
