in Elmdale, MN. The couple made their home for 38 years in Swan River Township (near Sobieski, MN) where he farmed until moving into Little Falls in 1989. After moving to town, George worked at the Pine Grove Zoo and the Morrison County Record delivering papers. He was a life member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, charter member of the Sobieski Lions, the Knights of Columbus and the National Farmers Organization. George enjoyed bringing joy to people playing Happy Birthday and You Are My Sunshine on his harmonica and playing his concertina or button accordion. He also enjoyed a good competitive card game of Smear, playing horseshoes, bowling, drives in the country looking at the crops, and trips to the casino. He loved life and made every day count. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and all children. Everywhere he went, he carried a bag of instruments for children to play with. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kathy (Jim) Birchem of Little Falls, MN, Mary Waltman of Little Falls, MN, George (Karen) Lashinski of Bowlus, MN, Patty (Dean) Savor of Brainerd, MN, Jean (Gary) Pallansch of Rice, MN, Jane Pantzke of Brainerd, MN, Thomas (Donna) Lashinski of Rice, MN, and Jerome (Kim) Lashinski of Sobieski, MN; sister, Rita Stiller of Swanville, MN; brother-in-law, Tom (Judy) Goike of Howell, MI; sister-in-law, Frances Lashinski; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. George was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Anna; wife, Elizabeth Betty (Aug. 14, 2015); son-in-law, Ed Waltman; four brothers, Henry Hank, Leonard, Edward, and Lawrence Lashinski and two infant sisters, Joan and Alvina Lashinski.
