Lydia Weeks MUSCATINE, IOWA - Lydia Weeks, 85, of 2203 West Fulliam Ave. passed away Friday, May 12, 2000, at Unity Hospital. Services were today at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Pallbearers were Michael Watson, Jeffrey Watson, David P. Watson, Roy Johnson, Jim Porter, Justin Weeks and Ian Watson. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Weeks was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Loveland, Colo., the daughter of Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Hergenreder Lichtenwald. Her family moved to Muscatine in 1927. She was united in marriage to Albert Earl Weeks on Oct. 4, 1930. They were married by Rev. Vernon Schantz in Muscatine. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, and the Rebecca Lodge. She did volunteer work at the church and the Salvation Army. She had been employed by the H. J. Heinz Co., the Celon Co., and she was also a cook at the Franklin, Colo., and Central Junior High Schools. She is survived by four sons, Richard Weeks of Leavenworth, Kan., Earl Weeks of Kansas City, Mo., Anson Weeks of Muscatine, and Gary Wayne Weeks of Costa Mesa, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. David L. (Doris) Watson of Letts, and Mrs. James (Geraldine) Porter of Spokane, Wash.; a granddaughter they raised, Mrs. David (Robin) Weeks Wynne of St. Paul, Minn.; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter; one brother, Harold Lichtenwald of Dallas, Texas; and four sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Esther) Pulliam of Muscatine, Mrs. Raymond (Helen) Cline of Farmersville, Texas, Mrs. William (Ruth) Sullivan of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Roy (Betty) Johnson of Letts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Albert Earl Weeks; one son, Albert Earl Jr.; one daughter, Wilma; and two brothers, Sam and Carl Lichtenwald.
