1950's. He later accepted an opportunity to join Carver Pump in 1954 while in Colombia and in 1956 moved with his family to Muscatine to be part of Carver Pump and Bandag operations. He worked for Bandag in various positions and was involved in many of the innovative patented recapping equipment Bandag developed. Mr. Ferreira traveled extensively in servicing Bandag franchise dealers equipment world wide and in training Bandag's service engineers until his retirement in 1985 after 35 years of employment. Survivors include his wife, Alicia Ferreira of Muscatine; a daughter, Maria Bowell and her husband, Duncan, of Houston, Texas; four sons, Oscar Ferreira of Murrieta, Calif., Herman Ferreira and his wife, Luann, Diego Ferreira and his wife, Debbie, and Robert Ferreira and his wife, Lisa, all of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Elvira Carrillo, Cecilia Convers, Inez Ferreira, Lucilla Ferreira, and Alicia, Ferreira, all of Bogota, Colombia; a brother, Luis Ferreira of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews in Columbia and the United States .
