Elaine May MUSCATINE, Iowa - Elaine Catherine May, 61, of Muscatine, died Friday July 7, 2000, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday at St. Mathias Church in Muscatine. Visitation will be from 2 - 6 pm Sunday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street in Muscatine. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harvey Allbee Jr., Keith Hultquist, Bill Jansen, Paul Stych, Garvase Jach, Carl Hayden. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Kent, Bill Kearney and William Schafenacker. Memorials can be made to the Muscatine Community Y at 1823 Logan Street, Muscatine, Iowa 52761. Mrs. May was born June 8, 1939 in Belmont, Wisconsin to Vince and Dolores Fowler Houtakker. She married Jack May on November 15, 1958 in Belmont, Wisconsin. Elaine was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Catholic. Her interests included her family, she also enjoyed her home and yard, golf, birds and playing cards.
