Robert Muller MONTICELLO, Iowa - Robert Muller, 75, of Monticello died Thursday afternoon, July 13, at the Regional Medical Center of Delaware County, Manchester, following an auto accident. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where the Scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Mr. Muller was born May 5, 1925, in Delaware County, Iowa, the son of Herman A. and Vera L. Schwartz Muller. He married Alice Mausser on Nov. 21, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1943. He worked on a farm near Manchester until he entered the U.S. Army in April 1944. He served in the Southwest and Central Pacific Theaters, participating in the Iwo Jima and Tinian campaigns. He returned from service in 1946. He then went to work at Great Plains Lumber in Manchester. The Mullers lived in Manchester for several years until Great Plains Lumber transferred him to Monticello. ction business with Lori Kramer. He was the parts manager at Freese Motors for 13 years. In recent years, Bob had returned to the construction and carpentry business. His great love was working with and riding horses. He is survived by his wife, Alice; a son, Lynn (Kathy) Muller, Muscatine; two daughters, Molly (Bill) Haag, Muscatine, Vicky Muller, Anamosa; three grandchildren, Lyndy Muller, Bob and Bart Haag and two step-grandchildren, Graig and Karah Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bretta Miller.
