Andrew Barko MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Andrew James Barko, 89, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Steven Wall of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Steve Rizzo, Mark Brand, Scott Andrews, Sean Rizzo, Raymond Kerr and Dean Garvin. Honorary pallbearer will be Trent Miles. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. He was born May 9, 1911, in Muscatine, the son of Andrew Edward and Edna Mary Goddard Barko. He married Lilah Evangeline Hanson Sept. 23, 1931, in Rock Island County. He retired as a foreman at Huttig Manufacturing in Muscatine. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Garvin and her husband, Dean, of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Leslie Rizzo and her husband, Steve, of Bettendorf, Stephanie Brand and her husband, Mark, of Muscatine, Dikki Ann Andrews and her husband, Scott, of Quincy, Ill., and Trenton Miles of Aurora, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, Kristen and Sean Rizzo,...[more]

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lilah in October 1999; two brothers, John and Ernest; and five sisters, Helen, Marie, Gloria, Margaret and Celesta.
