Mark Joseph Due, age 56, of Grosse Pointe Park passed away on January 8th, 2021 in Detroit, Michigan. Mark was born in West Palm Beach, FL on November 27th, 1964 to Marcia and Hans Due and is the youngest of his siblings; Shari, Alex and Mike. Mark grew up in Sylvania, Ohio and graduated from Sylvania Northview in 1983. He received a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from The Ohio State University and obtained two engineering master's degrees- one from Texas A & M and the second from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. He was a civilian with the Department of Defense for over 32 years working as a manager and engineer fielding and designing Tanks for the US Army. Growing up Mark enjoyed many sports and especially loved playing golf and hanging out with friends attending Tiger's and Lion's games. He had two activities that brought unending joy to his life: his love for downhill skiing and snowboarding and being an enthusiastic Buckeye fan. ends with family and friends making everlasting memories. Mark was known as a very, very dear man and was a wonderful loving husband, father, friend, son and brother. Amy, his wife will miss so many things but especially their daily walks that they would take around Grosse Pointe with their dog Bella. He was so proud of his two children and shared amazing memories as their baseball and soccer coach, Red Baron's equipment manager, ski instructor, euchre teammate and planner for many family vacations. A loving soul has been lost and will be missed. Mark is the loving husband of Amy, whom he recently celebrated his 30th Wedding Anniversary with on December 9. Dear father of Zach and Abigail. Cherished son of Marcia and Hans. Beloved youngest brother to his three older siblings. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 14th from 12 noon to 4 pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe, MI. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Friday, January 15th at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church, 1401 Whittier Rd, Grosse Pointe Park, MI. Please join the livestream of the Funeral Mass on St. Clare of Montefalco's Facebook Page. Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mark's name to Van Elslander Cancer Center - Liggest Breast Center, 19229 Mack Ave. Suite 31, Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236.
