He received many awards from Ford Motor Company and organized and sponsored the local Ford 'Punt, Pass and Kick' contest for area youth from 1970 to 1975. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wapello, the Wapello Lodge No. 5 A.F. amp; A.M., and the Wapello O.E.S. Chapter 257, serving as the Worthy Patron for several years. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Susan and James Humiston of Wapello and Debra and Tim Gladish of Warrensburg, Mo., four grandchildren, Blair and Staci Humiston and Brittany and Brooke Gladish; his identical twin brother, Robert and his wife, Fran Tillman of Burlington; a sister-in-law, Vivian Tillman of Wapello; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Minnie and a brother, LeRoy J. Tillman.
