Harold Knudsen

Harold Knudsen, 94, of Duncombe, IA, died Sunday, January 10, 2021, in Mesa, AZ. Private graveside services will be held. Gunderson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Harold Arthur Knudsen, son of John and Margaret (Long) Knudsen, was born on September 7,1926 in rural Luther, IA. He attended school in Ames, Iowa. On August 22, 1948, Harold was united in marriage to Joan Hoover. The couple resided in Ames, then moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1957 where Harold worked for Union Rock and Materials. Harold began farming in Duncombe in 1962 and retired in 1992. Harold said his crop rotation was "corn, beans and Arizona." He was a snow-bird in Arizona all these years. Harold was fascinated by anything on wheels. He enjoyed traveling with the 5th Wheel and he and Joan lived in RV Parks in Mesa for many years. Harold enjoyed tractor rides and drove his MTA on many trips to MN, WI, IL, and Iowa. The Loess Hills were especially enjoyable. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Knudsen of Webster City,...
