Ola Mae Olson ALEDO, Ill. #45;- Ola Mae Olson, 84, formerly of Joy, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. The Rev. John Crede of the Aledo United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Peniel Cemetery in Joy. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Nursing Home or the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Olson was born Oct. 18, 1915, in Hardire County, Ky., the daughter of James Oscar and Gertie Mae Hobbs Eggen. She married Carl R. Olson on April 21, 1937, in Monmouth, Ill. He died Nov. 29, 1995. She graduated from the Joy High School. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Lincoln and her husband, Bob of Aledo; two sons, Arthur Olson and his wife, Pat and Gerald Olson Sr. and his wife, Merlene, all of Joy; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and a brother, Otis Eggen and his wife, Rita of Aledo.
