e was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed puzzles. She was a longtime member of the Open Bible Church. Her family and church were a very important part of her life. Survivors include three sons, Arden Freeman and his wife, Barb, of Jefferson, John Freeman and his wife, MaryAnn, of Ottumwa and David Freeman and his wife, Susan, of Ames; seven daughters, Harriette Ayers and her husband, Fred, of Carroll, Ramonia Waldo and her husband, Doug, of Jefferson, Wanda Richards and her husband, Kenneth, of Muscatine, Kathleen Swaink and her husband, Keith, of Riverton, Valeria West and her husband, Gary, of Jefferson, Jolena Olson and her husband, Rick, of Indianola and Twila Nelson and her husband, Larry, of Madrid; 35 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one sister, Mary Mount of Bondurant; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Freeman of St. Charles; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Brooks; her mother, Harriette Brandon; her husband, Leo Freeman; a son, William, on Sept. 13, 1994; one brother, Raymond; one sister, Irene Sweeney; and two grandchildren, Sherry Ayers Booth and Ryan William Freeman.
