Flora A. Staub

Flora Alice Staub was born March 27, 1929, the daughter of Eugene and Sadie Barnum. She passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of eight-six. Flora was born in rural Woodbine, Iowa. She helped on the family farm before marrying Royal John McHugh, in 1948. The couple lived on a farm in rural Woodbine and was blessed with the birth of five children. Following Royal’s death, Flora moved her family to Woodbine. In 1964, Flora was united in marriage to William McCoid, the couple was blessed with the birth of two children. The family moved to Arion in 1971 where Flora began Wild Rose Cleaning Service, cleaning commercial properties. In 1987, Flora moved to Denison, where she continued cleaning. Flora was united in marriage to Eugene Staub and moved to a farm near Avoca. After his death she moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and then to Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs where she was diagnosed with advanced Parkinson 3 years ago. She also enjoyed crocheting, drawing, making doilies, gospel and country western music, and singing. Flora was an active church and choir member at the Baptist Church in Denison. Flora was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Royal, William and Eugene; one son, Royal; three brothers: John; Harry and his wife, Evelyn; and Glenn and his wife, Beatrice; three sisters: Rosella May; Susan and her husband, Walt; Margaret and her husband, Charles; and brother-in-law Harvey. Survivors include her children: Sandra; Lyle; Michael and his wife, Carol; Deloid; Marilyn and her husband, Scott; and Karen and her husband Paul; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; one sister, Harriett; many other relatives and friends.
