James Walton DAVENPORT, Iowa #45;- James Robert 'Bob' Walton, 69, of Davenport, formerly of Peoria, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus in Davenport. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, at Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory in Davenport and 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Cummerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association of the Quad Cities. Mr. Walton was born May 5, 1931, in Carbon, Ind., the son of Charles and Helen Thomas Walton. He married Betty Smith, Nov. 2, 1952, in Kewanee, Ill. He was an Army veteran. He worked for Caterpillar as a metallurgical engineer for 38 years. He retired in April 1987. Survivors include his wife, Betty; three sons, Doug and Jacque Walton of Peoria, Denny Walton and his wife, Carol, of Pinetop, Ariz. and Dale Walton and his wife, Gloria, of Bettendorf; a daughter, Dena Porter and her husband, Randy, of Muscatine; a brother Gene Walton and his wife, Carol, of East Peoria, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; a niece ...[more]
