Jane Westbrook AMES, Iowa #45;- Jane A. Westbrook, 82, of Ames, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Collegiate United Methodist Church in Ames. The Rev. Cynthia McCalmont will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wagner Cemetery in Letts. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Mrs. Westbrook was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Bayard, the daughter of Edward Ellsworth and Ethel May Love Bower. She married Harltey A. "Hap" Westbrook July 29, 1942, in Bayard. She was a member of the Collegiate United Methodist Church, past Worthy Matron, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution; past president, State P.T.A. organization. She was an avid Cyclone fan, bridge player, loved dogs and was active in Republican politics. She was a partner in Hap's Air Service in Ames, a former school teacher. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1941. Survivors include her husband, Hartley A. "Hap" Westbrook; three daughters, Diana Holden, Ames, Judy Mewhirter of Dallas, Texas and Jeanne Westbrook Smith of Ankeny; a son, Richard Westbrook of Ames; ...[more]
