Charles "Chuck" Stevens, 69, of Yates City, passed away at 1:38 p.m., on Monday, January 18, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 11, 1951, in Peoria to John and Bernice (Kroepel) Stevens. He married Carolyn Ward on December 7, 1989, in Galesburg. She survives.
He is also survived by four children, Candace Hall of Elmwood, Chad (Maryann) Stevens of Menominee, MI, Linda (Frank Catton) Dykes of Yates City, and Donna (Drew) Craig of Dunlap; one brother, John "Jack" (Marilyn) Stevens; one sister, Kay (Jack) Down; one sister-in-law, Vicki Stevens; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bob Stevens.
Chuck served in the Illinois Air National Guard for fourteen years. He also was a truck driver for the Peoria County Highway Department. Chuck was a member of the Farmington Moose Lodge and the Elmwood United Methodist Church. He took great joy in seeing his woodworking creations in the homes of his friends and family.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
