Ella DeKeyrel ILLINOIS CITY, Ill. #45;- Ella "Verlea" DeKeyrel, 76, of Illinois City, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at the Lutheran Homes. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Family Funeral Services in Reynolds, Ill. Burial will be at the Illinois City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Illinois City Elementary. Mrs. DeKeyrel was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Duncan Township, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Evva Pullen McCormick. She married Alois DeKeyrel on April 5, 1941, in Davenport. He died May 23, 1982. She was a cook at the Illinois City Grade School for 15 years, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed bingo, stitchery, reading and spending time with her family. She was a farm wife. Survivors include her children, Virginia Brade of Illinois City, Dean and Mary DeKeyrel of Alexis, Ill., James DeKeyrel and his wife, Marilyn, of Muscatine, Daniel DeKeyrel and his wife, Cathy, of Burlington, Elizabeth Goodnight and her husband, Steven, of Illinois City, and Joseph DeKeyrel and his wife, Roxanne, of Illinois City; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters,...[more]

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two brothers, Clarence and Everett McCormick; and a son-in-law, Carl Brade.
