Waymath Creelman MEDIAPOLIS, Iowa #45;- Waymath Amelia Creelman, 75, of Mediapolis, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis. The Rev. H. Dick Reynolds will officiate. Music will be provided by Junellen Chiprez and Evan Roy Wilson. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Aric Creelman, Benjamin Creelman, Ian Creelman, Brandon Creelman, Bobby Creelman, Noah Creelman, Brooke Creelman, Joshua Welch, Christopher Welch, Darren Steffener, Nathan Steffener, David Dean, Jeremy Dean, and James Dean. Burial will be at the Kossuth Cemetery. Visitation will begin after noon on Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis where family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made for the benefit of the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service and the First United Presbyterian Church at Mediapolis. Mrs. Creelman was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Oakville, the daughter of John Hays and Minnie Victoria 'Roy' Spitznogle. She married Marvin Roy Creelman on June 9, 1946, in Grandview. and attended college at Cedar Falls, Muscatine, and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She taught at several rural schools in Louisa and Des Moines counties, then taught at Huron, Mediapolis, retiring as a third-grade teacher from Yarmouth. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and its Evening Circle of Mediapolis, a charter member of Grace Stewart, a past president of the Rebecca Lodge, the Retired Teachers Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, sewing, and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Sandra K. Welch of Manassas, Va. and Waymath Anita Dean of Brighton, Colo.; two sons, Marvin Jon Roy Creelman of Oakville and Robert Andrew Creelman of Mediapolis; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a sister, Kathryn Hankins of Montpelier; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Robert; two brothers, Earl John and John Stanley; and a sister, Betty Schultz.
