ALYS HIDLEBAUGH MUSCATINE, Iowa - Alys B. Lewis Hidlebaugh, 75, of 1919 Orange St., died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Lutheran Homes. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Leif Pohl will officiate. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hindahl, Adam Stark, Jacob Naber, Andrew Lewis, Douglas Lewis, Marc Brown, and Joshua Watson. Honorary Bearers will be Lloyd Messer, Harry Lewis, Larry Lewis, John Stroh, Jim Stroh, Frank Stroh, Tom O'Reiley, Mark Ditmars, and Steve Whitlow. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, Lutheran Homes or the Muscatine County Hearing Impaired Association. Alys was born on June 27, 1925, in Fruitland, the daughter of Fred D. and Marie Van Devegate Stroh. Her first marriage was to Howard R. Lewis on Feb. 12, 1947, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1970. Her second marriage was to Weldon Hidlebaugh on April 15, 1974 in Muscatine. Sally Naber of Winfield, Abbie Derksen and her husband, Anthony of Muscatine, and Cindy Hazelwood and her husband, Darrell of Muscatine; a daughter-in-law, Dana Bartlett of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild due on her birthday; as well as several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Howard, in 1970, one son, Richard "Jim" Lewis in 1995, two brothers and one sister.
