Jennifer Jean Koehler ILLINOIS CITY, Ill. #45;- Jennifer Jean Koehler, 17, of Illinois City, died Monday, June 4, 2001, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the Geo. M. Wittich -Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine. The Revs. Floyd and Diana West will officiate. Burial will be in Drury Reynolds Cemetery. Visitations are 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Memorials have been established in the name of Jennifer Koehler. Miss Koehler was born July 23, 1983, in Iowa City, the daughter of Jonathan J. and Barbara Herzog Koehler. She was a 2001 graduate of Rockridge High School. She was active in band, chorus, show choir and participated in many civic functions. She was employed at McDonalds in Muscatine for the last two years and at Cordova Drag Raceway for the last four years. She loved cars and animals and her dog, Trista. She was an accomplished musician in clarinet and also played the piano. She received honors in the All State Honor Jazz Choir for the past two years and several honors in the St. Ambrose and Augustana Honor Bands. She was presented the Arion Award for leaders...[more]

. She had planned to attend Blackhawk Community College with future dreams of teaching music. Survivors include her parents, J.J. and Barbara Koehler of Muscatine; two brothers, Aaron Michael Koehler and James Patrick Koehler, both of Muscatine; maternal grandparents, Jack and Shirley Herzog of Storm Lake; paternal grandparents, Phyllis Koehler of Mount Pulaski, Ill.; maternal great-grandfather, George Peterson of Storm Lake; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Harold 'Hap' Koehler; and by her maternal great-grandmother, Edna Herzog.
