George Harvey BELLA VISTA, Ark. #45;- George Edward Harvey, 75, of Bella Vista, formerly of Little York, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at the Bates Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel in Monmouth, Ill. The Rev. Mark Schleeter will officiate. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Harvey was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Warren County, Ill., the son of James and Pearl Young Harvey. He married Mary Godown on April 14, 1956, in Oquawka, Ill. He graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill. with a bachelor's of arts degree in education in 1937 and a master's degree in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army 1943-1944. He coached and taught in Aledo, Ill. and New Boston, Ill., for several years, moving to Muscatine in 1961, where he was and elementary principal, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa and was a Mason for 42 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Bella Vista; two sisters, Marjorie Martin of Davenport and Mary Anderson and her husband, Lawrence, of Keithsburg, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
