Elizabeth Rose Frantz HILLS, Iowa - Elizabeth Rose Frantz, 85, of 121 Brady St. Hills, died Sunday, August 5, 2001, in her home following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills with the Rev. Louis Leonhardt officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 3 - 8 p.m. at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. A rosary and parish wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in rural Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stanislaus Cemetery or Iowa City Hospice. Mrs. Frantz was born December 18, 1915 in West Liberty, the daughter of John and Gertrude Smith Milder. She lived in West Liberty, Nebraska, North Dakota and Missouri and has been a resident of Hills since 1935. She married Lyle Frantz on February 3, 1938, in Hills. She started Frantz Upholstery and operated it for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert; a sister, Margueretta Milder; five brothers, Joseph, Donald, Larry, Edward and Maurice and grandchildren Lyle Howell, Stephen Kruse and Theresa Kruse.
