Charles Schneekloth DE WITT, Iowa #45;- Charles R. Schneekloth, 69, of DeWitt, formerly of Wilton, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at DeWitt Community Hospital in DeWitt. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Wilton. The Rev. Michael Biklen will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Kathy Luethye and guitarist, Elza Sager. Pallbearers are Albert 'Pete' Lehman, Wayne Lehman, Dale Lehman, Gary Lehman, Ronnie Lehman, Dick Lehman, Bill Thieman, George 'Skip' Boldt and Gary Werts. Honorary pallbearers are Rod Burnett, Bill Woller, Ken Grunder, Louis Brammeier, and Doug Brammeier. Family burial will be Wednesday at National Cemetery in Rock Island, Ill. Graveside Military Rites will be given by the Durant American Legion Post 430. Visitation is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to services at the church Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Burn Unit and the Wilton Fire Department. 1950, where he served as Senior Class President. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict serving in Anchorage, Alaska. He owned and operated Schneekloth's Standard in Wilton for 22 years, retiring in 1980. In 1982 he worked at S/M Farm Services, retiring in 1992. He was employed by Krieger Motors in DeWitt. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wilton, the Masons, Shriners and Consistory, the Durant American Legion Post 430, the Wilton Fire Department and the Schleswig-Holsteim Society in Walcott. Survivors include his wife, Betty Schneekloth of DeWitt; two daughters, Theresa 'Terri' Sager and her husband, Elza, of Eldridge and Genei Loftus and her husband, Jack, of Lenexa, Kan.; three granddaughters, Ryanne Gillum, Randi Gillum and Regan Loftus; a sister, Janet Carstens of Wilton; a brother, Jerry Schneekloth of Bloomfield; and two aunts, Marjorie McCoy and Elizabeth McCoy, both of DeWitt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Schneekloth.
