Johanna Shoultz MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Johanna A. Shoultz, 94, of Muscatine, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Island United Methodist Church. The Rev. Prince Swamickan will officiate. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Island United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shoultz was born March 3, 1907, in Muscatine, the daughter of Fred and Helena Baars Bartenhagen. She married George Shoultz Jan. 26, 1929, in Muscatine. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Island United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years and also held several other offices. She taught Sunday school for more than 60 years, was the Sunday school superintendent and active in the Women's Christian Groups. She was a member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau Women, a 4-H leader and volunteered her time at the Unity Hospital in the gift shop. Survivors include three sons, Donald Shoultz and his wife, Dianne, of Waterloo, David Shoultz and his wife, Lynne, of Johnston and Wayne Shoultz and his wife, Judy, of Muscatine; three daughters, Jean Ziegenhorn and her husband, Maurice, Marjorie Dipple and Deanne Miller and her husband, Ronald, all of Muscatine; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Bartenhagen of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ray; a great-grandson, Bret; two brothers, Harold and Richard; and a sister, Dora.
