Delbert Whitmer LECLAIRE, Iowa #45;- Delbert M. Whitmer, 58, of LeClaire died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport. Services are 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. The Rev. Marlin Whitmer will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalist Henry Bentley. Pallbearers are Jim Meeks, Kenny Larson, Bill Wiese, Harlen Schurr, Justin Meeks, Ken Larson, Jason Larson and Jim Rienhart. Burial will be Thursday at National Cemetery in Rock Island, Ill. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Whitmer was born on Dec. 14, 1943, in Muscatine, the son of Moses and Loretta Osborn Whitmer. He married Sherry K. Armstrong on Sept. 25, 1971, in Davenport. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970. He was a Tech Specialist at Alcoa in Riverdale for 39 1/2 years. He was a member of the IBEW and the Durant American Legion Post No. 430.
