Alton Koch COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa #45;- The Rev. Alton Koch, 89, of Columbus Junction died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction following a short illness. Services are 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Visitation is 5:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to benefit the many congregations he served. Rev. Koch was born on July 25, 1912, in Henry County, Ohio, the son of William and Anna Rettig Koch. He married Euretha Meyer on Nov. 6, 1940. He attended Concordia School in Fort Wayne, Ind. and graduated from Concordia Seminary in 1936 in St. Louis, Mo. He served St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wapello and Faith Lutheran Home in Mount Pleasant. He was honored by Iowa Governor Robert Ray, for 40 years of service to numerous state institutions. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Lion's Club and Lutheran Layman League. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and servant of God.
