Dorothy Whitmer TIPTON, Iowa #45;- Dorothy Mary Whitmer, 80, of Tipton died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at her home. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. The Rev. Norman Anderson will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalist Henry Bentley. Pallbearers are Kenneth Nebergall, Glen Nebergall, Merle Waltz, Keith Chapman, Jack Reeve and Wayne Nebergall. Burial will be at South Bethel Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the South Bethel Church. Mrs. Whitmer was born on Feb. 28, 1921, in Cedar County, the daughter of Harry and Martha Hain Kaufmann. She married Hilbert L. Whitmer on April 12, 1947, in Wilton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1986. She was a member of the Sugar Creek Homemakers, South Bethel UMW, South Bethel Church, Cedar County Historical Society and Cedar County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed gardening, filling scrapbooks with photographs she had taken and sending out hundreds of birthday and holiday cards, but her family always came first. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Richard Kaufmann and two brothers in infancy.
