Peter Clark Johnson

PETER JOHNSON MUSCATINE, Iowa - Peter C. Johnson, 72, of 2116 Fairway Drive, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at his home. As per Pete's request there will be no visitation or services. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Johnson was born on Sept 29, 1929, in Davenport, the son of Clark L. and Mildred Moose Johnson. He married Doris Kissinger on Nov. 28, 1954, in Warsaw, Illinois. Along with his father, he owned and operated Johnson Oil Company and retired in 1980. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1953. He was a member of the Geneva Golf and Country Club, the First Presbyterian Church, and the Muscatine Miniature Aircraft Association. He enjoyed building miniature airplanes. He loved to play golf and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include two sons, Clark Johnson and his wife, Sony, of Muscatine, and Jay "Bo" Johnson of San Diego, California; one daughter, Judy Porter and her husband, Rex, of Anaheim Hills, California; and four grandchildren, Jessie Porter and Mitchell Porter of Anaheim Hills, California, and Patrick Johnson and Judy Johnson of Muscatine. ...[more]
