KIRK P. STICKROD GRANDVIEW, Iowa - Kirk P. Stickrod, 85, of Grandview, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Unity Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Stickrod will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rodney Stickrod, David Stickrod, Tom Stickrod, Carl Bonnichsen, Craig Bonnichsen and Casey Bonnichsen. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll Martin, Gene Phillips and Travis Buster. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Memorial Plaza at Grandview Corners. Mr. Stickrod was born March 13, 1916, in Illinois City, Illinois, the son of Shedrick and Lottie Estabrook Stickrod. He was raised by Joseph and Lottie Stickrod Thomas. He married Bertha Atkins on March 18, 1939, in Muscatine. He was a veteran of World War II, assigned to the Armed Guard Branch of the US Navy, serving in the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
