Helen Chesling MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Helen Chesling, 93, Muscatine, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Parkview Manor, Wellman. Services are 3 p.m. Thursday at New Hope United Methodist Church. Burial will at Muscatine Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation is 2 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church. A memorial has been established. Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Chesling was born Aug. 8, 1908, in Muscatine, the daughter of William A. and Fannie E. Bates Sinkler. She married Cecil Wimberly Aug. 8, 1925, at the Little Brown Church. She married Roy 'Red' Swank Feb. 23, 1946. She later married Irvin Chesling Sept. 10, 1967, in Muscatine. She worked as a clerk at Bridge Grocery on Walnut Street, Muscatine, Wilson True Value and in the warehouse for Eagle Foods. She was a past member of Ladies of the Moose. She loved sewing and needlework. Survivors include four daughters, Delores Dennison of Straughton, Mass., Doris Holliday and Beverly Suhl, both of Muscatine, and Karen Sinkler of Davenport; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Coutant of Muscati...[more]

two stepsons, Howard Chesling of Florida and Ralland Chesling of Davenport; a stepdaughter, Barbara Clester of Utah; nine stepgrandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands and two brothers, Floyd and Harold Sinkler.
