Vincent Cyrus Carlson was born on January 7, 1921 in Lockridge Iowa to Walter & Nellie Hill Carlson. He attended school in Lockridge, Iowa. He served in the United States Army in the South Pacific for three years. \Vince\" married Virginia Faye Garlick in 1942. He lived his entire married life in the Cedar County area near and in Tipton Iowa. He was employed as a carpenter until his retirement. After his retirement he spent several hours in his garage designing and making wood lawn ornaments. He was a lifetime member of the Carpenters Union Local 1260 and the VFW. Vince is loved and survived by his wife Virginia and four children. He had 8 grandchildren; Jim and Bill Hillyer Stewart Carlson Libby Johnson Chuck Carlson Jr. Patrick Severin Shari Slayton and Sandy Severin; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother Norris Carlson & wife Roberta of Lockridge Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
