Viola E. Dickey

Viola Dickey MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Viola E. Dickey, 82, Muscatine, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Unity Hospital. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Kohler will officiate. Pallbearers are Brett Petersen, Chet Dickey, Clint Dickey, Chad Dickey, Shanna Keller, Mark McKillip, Dutch Dickey and Grant McConnaha. Burial will be at Klein Cemetery, Moscow. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Mrs. Dickey was born on June 30, 1919, in Muscatine, the daughter of George and Ada Garvin Schmitt. She married Leland Dickey in 1941, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was a member of Spangler Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making angel food cakes, noodles, playing bingo and crocheting. She worked for Thatcher's, retiring after 20 years of service. Survivors include a son, Ron Dickey of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Chad Dickey, Chet Dickey, Clint Dickey, Brett Petersen and Shanna Keller; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ardith; a sister, Maxine; and a grandson, Bart. [more]
