on many church committees. He was a member of 33 Club and Elks Lodge #304. He served as chairman of the Golf Course Committee for 13 years, he was on the committee when Muscatine Municipal Golf Course was built and he was an avid golfer. Mr. Bloom also served on the Civil Service Commission, the Levee Commission, the YMCA Board, and was United Way Chairman. He spent two and a half years as a teacher at Jefferson Elementary and was promoted to principal at Washington Elementary, where he spent another two and a half years before leaving the education profession. He joined Grain Processing Corp staff and spent 28 years there retiring in 1982, as Vice President of Personnel for GPC/Kent Feeds. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bloom, of Muscatine; one daughter, Louise Bloom of Atlanta, Georgia; one granddaughter, Danielle Abdallah of Atlanta Georgia; and one brother, Clark C. Bloom and his wife, Jackie, of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jo Ann.
