Walter 'Brack' Parrish WEST BRANCH, Iowa #45;- Walter 'Brack' Parrish, 86, West Branch, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at the Crestview Care and Rehab Center, West Branch, after an extended illness. Services are 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the West Branch United Methodist Church. The Rev. Howard Vrankin will officiate. Burial will be at the West Branch Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the Barker Funeral Home, West Branch. Memorials may be made to the West Branch United Methodist Church. Mr. Parrish was born on Jan. 6, 1916, in Holiday, Mo., the son of William Thomas and Ada Kate West Parrish and stepmother, Maude. He married Doris Christensen on Aug. 7, 1940, in North Liberty. She preceded him in death in 1996. He graduated from Holiday High School in 1933. He worked with the C.C.C. in California for a short while. He owned Parrish Floor Services for more than 20 years. He later was employed by the National Park Service at the Hoover Library, West Branch, working in building maintenance and restoration.
