Clayton Schmidt NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. #45;- Clayton Weldon Schmidt, 82, North Fort Myers, died Friday, July 26, 2002. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33903. The National Cremation Society is in charge of the cremation arrangements. Mr. Schmidt was born in Muscatine. He retired to North Fort Myers from Lake St. Louis, Mo. 18 years ago. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Corps in the Burma/India Theatre. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Eilermann Schmidt; a brother, Donald Schmidt of Muscatine; a sister, Lorraine Cottrell of Muscatine; a son, Michael Schmidt of Moline, Ill.; two daughters, Anne Thomas of Davenport and Jabet Wheeler of Condon, Mont.; and five grandchildren.
