Lillian Keffer TIPTON, Iowa #45;- Lillian Etolene Straub Martin Keffer, 96, 1200 Mulberry St., Tipton, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Services are 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. DeLane Wright will officiate. Pallbearers are Dennis Petersen, Mark Petersen, Terry Martin, Shane Martin, Carl 'Boone' Martin and Ronald Martin. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation is one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Mrs. Keffer was born on Aug. 30, 1905, in Tipton, the daughter of the Rev. A. W. and Lettie Jane Whitmer Straub. She married Albert F. Martin on June 3, 1925, in Tipton. He preceded her in death. She later married Don Keffer. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1925 and attended Tipton Junior College. She was a nurses' aid at Oakdale Hospital, retiring March 1, 1974. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tipton, D.A.R. and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 695 of Iowa City. Tipton; a daughter-in-law, Alice Martin of Iowa City; two sons-in-law, Dewey Petersen of Coralville and Robert Rickard of Tipton; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert; a son, Lavelle F. Martin; two daughters, Betty Rickard and Lorraine Petersen; a grandson, Kerry Martin; a granddaughter, Mayanna Sue Martin; a brother, Elmer E. Straub; and four sisters, Florence Nabholz, Vella Wayland, Elva Jordan and Mary Straub.
