ARTHUR SESSLER Durant, Iowa - Arthur J. Sessler, 83, Durant, died on Aug. 15, 2002, at Wilton Retirement Community in Wilton. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. Pastor Wayne Fredericksen will officiate. Pallbearers are Curtis Sessler, John Sessler, Nathan Carroll, Sarah Sessler, Matthew Carroll, Dean Sessler and Gary Ihlefeld. Burial is in the Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Visitation is 2- 6 p.m. Sunday at Bentley Funeral Homes in Wilton and one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials may go to the Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. Mr. Sessler was born on Aug. 17, 1918, the son of John and Carolyn Grunder Sessler in Cedar County. He later married Vera E. Ihlefeld on March 17, 1946, in Davenport. He served in World War II from 1941 - 1945 in the United States Army. He farmed in Cedar County his entire life, retiring in 1982. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on numerous boards.
