Russell Marston ELIZA, Ill. #45;- Russell LeRoy Marston, 73, Eliza, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine, after a lengthy illness. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine. The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate. Pallbearers are Doug McKay, Danny McKay, Dwayne McKay, Dennis Lingafelter, Jerry Plemmons, Jeff Marston and John Marston. Burial will be at Eliza Creek Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Eliza American Legion. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Marston was born on Nov. 14, 1928, in Buffalo Prairie, Ill., the son of Linwood and Fern Bear Marston. He married Shirley McKay on May 9, 1952. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime farmer and owned Marston Trucking. He enjoyed farming and his annual family vacation in the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a member of the Eliza Community Church, Eliza Lions Club and the Eliza American Legion. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mark Marston of Ames, Randy Marston and wife Denise of Joy, Ill. and R.J. Marston and wife Susie of Aledo, Ill.; two daughters, Sharon Weets and husband Dale of Wilton and Darla Bier...[more]

nd husband Chris of Joy; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Ben, Evan, Dustin and Adam Marston, Valerie and Emily Weets; and a great-grandchild, Logan Russell Marston; a brother, Charles Marston and wife Diane of Muscatine; and two sisters, Alice Plemmons of Muscatine and Floy Lingafelter of East Moline, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Blaine Marston and Elwin 'Bub' Marston; and a sister, Olive Ketelson.
