Robert Gerot RIVERSIDE, Iowa #45;- Robert Gerot, 88, Riverside, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at his home after a short illness. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Riverside. The Rev. Jack Gallagher will officiate. Pallbearers are Mike Gerot, Rick Gerot, Tom Gerot, Rob Gerot, Doug Shalla, John Shalla, Dallas Shalla and George Shalla. Honorary pallbearers are Cynthia Gingerich, Penny Stout, Rebecca Mougin and Samantha Thompson. Burial will be at Riverside Public Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Mr. Gerot was born on Nov. 10, 1913, in Riverside, the son of Pete and Ida Moss Gerot. He married Zelda Frank on Nov. 28, 1936, in Riverside. She preceded him in death in 1997. He farmed in the Riverside area his entire life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Sam Gerot and his wife, Sheila, and Peter Gerot and his wife, Sandra, all of Riverside; two daughters, Mary Frantz and her husband, Joe, and Lou Ann Shalla and her husband, Wayne, all of Riverside; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrel Ge...[more]
