Lynn Bartling INDIANOLA, Iowa #45;- Lynn Bartling, 77, Indianola, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at his home. Private services will be held at a later date. Burial of cremains will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Overton Funeral Home, Indianola, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bartling was born on Oct. 17, 1924, in Janesville, the son of Herman and Mabel Goodwin Bartling. He married Margaret Ford on Jan. 5, 1947. He graduated from Janesville High School and joined the U.S. Navy. After he was discharged he moved to Cedar Falls. He worked for John Deere, Waterloo, from January 1947-October 1982, retiring as a press operator. In 2000 he moved to Indianola. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, playing pool and swimming. He was a member of Burton Avenue Baptist Church, Waterloo. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tab Bartling and his wife, Linda, of Indianola, Kim Bartling and his wife, Judy, of Muscatine and Scott Bartling and his wife, Michelle, of Clarksville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Nick, Zachary, Jacy and Joseph Bartling; and a brother, John Bart...[more]
